Vegas Baby!!!

We just got back from Las Vegas, and as usual, it was a blast!!!  I love Vegas, but if you read my About Me page, you already knew that.

I am back, and I am sleep deprived.

My husband and I went for a mini-vacation.  As much as we have been working lately, we needed some R&R.  Although, never do we completely go “business-free.”

While in Las Vegas, we went on a night helicopter ride over the Strip.  It was amazing.

Las Vegas from the sky

To see all the lights and the activity of the Strip got your heart beating just a little faster… or was that the fact that I was flying around in the air.

I recommend the helicopter ride next time you go to Vegas.

We also went to see the Phantom of the Opera at The Venetian.  It was amazing.  I suggest if you go to a show when you are in Vegas, you go on the first night.  I loved the show, and thank goodness that it was GREAT because I was so tired!!!

As usual, it was a great trip to Vegas!!!

Chocolate Martini

My version of a chocolate martini.  I have tried several versions of this really delicious drink at various restraunts and clubs and came up with a better version.  Try It.

What you will need:

1 ½ shots of Godiva chocolate liqueur
1 ½ shots crème de cacao
1 shot of Grey goose or Stolichnaya vodka
2 shots of half & half or milk

Bringing it all together:

Mix all the ingredients in a chilled shaker with ice then pour into a chilled martini glass. I also like to rim the glass with cocoa powder.  It is best to chill all the liquors and do not use cheaper alternatives or knock off brands. Enjoy!

1. Party Favors! These are a must have at any party or celebration.

There are several different types of themes you can consider, here are a few just for an example.

3. Party Games. You will want to keep your guest entertained! Nothing is worse than a boring party.

4. Invitations. You will want to have an invitation that is exciting and informative. Make sure and let the guest know what type of a them you have chosen for your party.

You will want a gift for the Bride and party gifts for the guest. You may even want a gift to give as a prize for your party games.

Reminiscing…And Pomegranate Martini Recipe

Isn’t it great when you can sit back and reminisce with old friends.  Tonight I spoke to a good friend from Michigan that I haven’t talked to in so long.  We talked of the good times and the good drinks we used to drink long ago.  She gave me a new drink recipe to try.  I thought I would share it with all of you.  A Pomegranate Martini…  Boy, has our taste buds changed from the days of Cold Duck.  You can find the recipe is on Oprah’s website.

Bridal Shower Games

With Spring on its way, brides are now getting ready and planning for their weddings. With weddings comes bridal showers, bachelorette parties, and lots of fun and games. If you are going to be hosting a bridal shower here are a few tips to keep it festive and fun.

The Word Scramble Game

This game is very fun and will challenge your guest into having fun.

Think of some words associated with a wedding. Then scramble the letters and let the guest figure out the words. Present a prize for the person that guess the most words correctly in the least amount of time. Some words that I might use would be bride, groom, flowers, wedding cake, wedding, veil, dress, suit, etc.

Who Knows the Bride and Groom the Best

This is a great game to play and you will laugh endlessly on some of the answers that you receive.

Get with the Bride and Groom and select a list of ten questions to ask both the Bride and the Groom. Give the guest a pre-printed piece of paper with the questions for the bride and the groom and have them answer the questions. After everyone has answered the questions, read off the answers and then select two winners. One winner will be the person that got the most answers correct on the bride, and the other one will be the one that answered the most questions correct on the groom.

Clothes Pin Game

This game is a blast. People will try to trick others into saying the forbidden words just to get their clothes pins. We played this at the last shower that I hosted and everyone just laughed. It was amazing an 8 year old girl wound up with 90% of the pins.

Give each guest 5 clothes pins when they enter the door. Explain to each guest that they are not aloud to use the words Bride, Groom, or Wedding. Each time a guest hears another use one of these words they get one clothes pin from the person who said Bride, Groom, or Wedding. Then at the end of the party have each quest count the number of clothes pins that they have and the person with the most clothes pins gets a party gift.Want more tips and games… Check back often we will be updating regularly.
