Luau Theme Party

Having a summer birthday party? Bring Hawaii to you!

Set the mood by playing Hawaiian style music and have the guests arrive dressed for the occasion, such as grass skirts and bright hawaiin shirts. Decorate with Hawaiian Luau Party Supplies themed decorations. Don’t forget the drink umbrellas and fun straws in the drinks.

For your birthday cake, decorate it as a flip flop or a palm tree.

Check out some great party supplies at Party Favor Mall that will help you make your party have the look and feel of Hawaii.

Planning a HollyWood Theme Party

 Hollywood Theme Party

With all the news about the Grammy’s coming soon, I felt it was a perfect time to share a party idea a friend of mine had.

My friend Amy held a Hollywood Theme Party for her teenage daughter last summer.  They gave out awards for several different categories.  She made the awards out of barbie dolls glued on a stand.  She spray painted the dolls gold and wrote the award that it was for on the stand that they made.  Everything was decorated in black and white and made a backdrop with the words HOLLYWOOD in gold with gold stars around it.

Here are some tips for your HOLLYWOOD Party:

Ask you guest in the invitation to ”dress to impress.”  Let them know that they may be nominated for an award.

Awards you may want to give:  (Use your imagination)

  • Best Dressed
  • Best Hair
  • Best Shoes

The guests will nominate each other for the categories.
Each guest will vote for each of the categories.

Don’t forget to take lots of pictures.  It will be a night to remember.

…Just a thought from me:
Go to a thrift store and get a red carpet for all of your guests to walk down when they arrive.  Put a strobe light going near the door so it give the feel of flashes from cameras.

And lastly…HAVE FUN!
